Welcome! I'm Christopher Skorka
I am currently working as a software engineer at Newbook which provides a cloud based web application for property management. I previously completed a bachelor's degree of computer science at Griffith University Gold Coast majoring in data science and AI. I'm especially interested in AI technologies, cyber security, and algorithms.

My Qualities:
- Software Development:
Through developing a range of applications and writing scripts, I have gained highly valuable software development and documentation skills. I am familiar with many development environments, frameworks and programming languages.
- Team Work and Communication:
During my previous work experiences and university projects, I led small teams and worked in teams to develop software that required extensive documentation. Effective communication of tasks, requirements and feedback with both customers and team members was crucial to the timely success of the projects.
- Attention to Details:
With a great eye for detail, I ensure my work is implemented correctly and that components function according to the specifications and are error free by testing thoroughly using unit testing and functional testing methodologies. During UI/UX design, I pay close attention to design details to ensure an excellent user experience and ease of use.

My
GPA of 6.17 and two awards for academic excellence from Griffith University confirm
that I can source relevant and credible information quickly to apply new
knowledge and findings to current projects. My great academic results granted
me membership with the Golden Key International Honour Society, the world's
largest collegiate honour society exclusive to the top 15% of college and university
sophomores in all fields of study.
Griffith University awarded me twice for academic excellence by achieving a GPA greater than 6.0 over the year. This demonstrates that I am motivated to produce exceptional and innovative work.

Team Projects
- Cyber Security Challenge Australia:
In a team of four, representing Griffith University, we have competed against teams from universities around Australia and achieved the highest rank of first year students.
- GovHack:
In a team of five we have created a public utilities search engine website for tourists with maps and navigation functionality (GitHub).
- King Snake:
King Snake is a cross-platform game, developed by Thomas Csere and myself, in which the player controls a growing snake that competes with an AI snake for points and the player's snake must not run into itself or the AI.
